Lucy Brosnan is a curator and artist living and working on Gadigal and Dharawal Country, Australia. Working across two creative disciplines, her art practice often informs her curatorial projects and vice versa.

Driven by a love of labour and a curiosity for the conceptual weight of the everyday, Brosnan explores how identity is shaped by place, memory, and the emotional resonance of physical structures. Her work often draws upon personal photo albums and fragmented memories, occupying a space between familiarity and ambiguity. Intrigued by the mysteries of psychology, she considers the lasting influence of childhood on the human psyche, examining how the subconscious and the “inner child” manifest within adult life.

Lucy approaches her curatorial work fundamentally as a practice of care. Guided by a research-driven and collaborative methodology, she centres her practice on supporting and extending the artist’s perspective. She is particularly interested in developing conceptual links across emerging and experimental forms, fostering new dialogues within Australian contemporary art. She has curated several group and solo exhibitions across both institutional and artist-led spaces.

Lucy holds a Bachelor of Fine Art majoring in Painting (2021) from the National Art School and a Master of Art Curating (2025) from the University of Sydney. She is currently on the Board of Directors at Schmick Contemporary.
